Alternative to using two bits on a double bridle
The Korsteel Rugby Jointed Pelham is a popular alternative double-bitting. This bit may be preferable to a standard double bridle bit as some horses do not tolerate having two bits in their mouth, as their tongue may be too fleshy and their palate too low. The Rugby Pelham gives the appearance of two bits, due to the loose snaffle rings looking like a bradoon bit.
