Camp is the highlight of many Pony Clubber's year. Check out our handy list below. It’s designed to help you prepare and get the most out of your camp. You might think that a lot of the things on it are obvious, but a list is always a great place to start when you’ve got such a long list as you have for Pony Club Camp! Tick things off as you pack them and make a separate list of the things that you think you need to buy. If you need help, then please get in touch and remember, Free UK delivery is available too! Right, to the list. This list focuses on kit for the rider…

Happy camping!

Item We Say...
Riding Hat Perhaps the most critical choice when it comes to riding is the choice of riding hat for a child. We offer a range of children's hats from established brands like Champion, Charles Owen and Gatehouse. Don't forget that for Cross Country, only a skull cap is permitted.
Body Protector A body protector is an important part of your Pony Club equipment. You need to make sure that it has the essential BETA certification that the Pony Club request.
Beige Jodhpurs Plain colours can be worn for instruction days but white or beige have to be worn for competition day. The Shires Children's Wessex Knee Patch Jodhpurs are a rider favourite. They are comfortable and cool for summer days as well as smart enough for competing. At least three pairs of jodhpurs or breeches are recommended. Shop our Children's Beige Breeches Collection
Riding Top A long sleeve shirt is important for Pony Club, where long sleeves are mandatory if jackets are removed. A base layer is great for training days! Take a look at the LeMieux Young Rider Base Layer.
Riding Jacket For a smart jacket, take a look at our Children's Competition Jacket Collection. A must-have for competition day.
Waterproof Jacket We know summer in the UK isn't a guarantee of no rain. The HKM Children's Regensburg Softshell Jacket is lightweight and water resistant, and you can remove the sleeves to wear it as a gilet. Or try the HKM Children's Rain Mac, which is transparent and can be worn over your jacket on show days.
Jodhpur Boots Our Children's Short Boots Collection offers a great range of riding boots, and they're all durable and made from quality materials.
Riding Chaps Jodhpur boots worn with chaps are where we all started as children with equestrian footwear! Take a look at this selection of Children's Horse Riding Chaps that are great for camp.
Jodhpur Clips This ingenious little invention, Jodhpur Clips, will stop your jodhpurs from rising up and driving you mad!
Riding Gloves Fair Play Children's Lola Riding Gloves are available in a range of colours, including white if you want a pair for competing. They have mesh panels to keep your hands cool.
Tie Don't forget the Pony Club has its very own Show TieMade from luxurious woven jacquard that feels like silk
Training Breeches A smart and comfortable pair of breeches are a must-have. The LeMieux Young Rider Silicone Full Seat Riding Tights are a great choice! If you're looking for a pair of jodhpurs, take a look at the Shires Children's Wessex Knee Patch Jodhpurs.
Hairnet A neat and tidy appearance is required at all times and hair can prove a bit of a challenge in this respect, even short hair. Hair Nets are the only answer to keep all those wispy bits of hair from escaping under your helmet! You can even pick up a Pony Club Scrunchie to match your tie.
