Many equestrians will have seen the supplements from Omega Equine. Proven to be popular with leisure horse owners right through to Gold Medal winning competition riders. But what do you know about the company, who is behind it and what of their innovative range? Read on to find out more…

When was the company started?

It was started in January 2018.

Where is the company based?

West Sussex.

Why was the company started?

Paul and Sarah Ainsworth, the owners, started the company because they saw there was a need for effective products at a competitive price.

Working with some of the industry’s leading Agronomists, Paul researched soil types, plants, seeds and products to improve yields and implement strategies to develop more effective and efficient farming practices when growing crops such as wheat, oats, Barley, potatoes, sugar beet, beans, peas, cabbages, rape, kale and hay for animals.

He started studying too the various horse feeds and supplements that were available on the market to riders and realised that there was often room for improvement. Enter Omega Equine(OE)!

What makes the range so unique?

OE make some pretty big claims about their range. For example they claim that it's quite unique and "The best pure ingredients blended together to create products of unrivalled quality" but how are they able to justify these claims? Easily is the answer: the unique combinations and amounts of ingredients used to create formulas that are easy to feed with maximum results. What's more all are priced at great value which makes them stand out in the crowded and competitive market of equine supplements.

A good example of how OE’s supplements benefit from Paul’s research is their Vita E product. Paul wanted to produce a high strength, cost effective natural Vitamin E product rather than in a manmade, synthesised format to assist horses with their intake of Vitamin E - an essential nutrient and antioxidant needed for optimum muscle health.

OE’s “Vita E” helps maintain cell health by counteracting free radicals. Vita E plays a key role in oxygen absorption and balancing muscle waste such as lactic acid. Paul realised that natural vitamin E is a fat-soluble nutrient and requires a small amount of fat to be absorbed effectively. In Vita E this comes in the form of cold pressed linseed oil, full of antioxidants and omega fatty acids which also maintain healthy responses to inflammation.

What product are OE particularly proud of?

OE was delighted when “Sarcxpell”, the sarcoid product, was launched as it does what its products are designed to do, i.e. work hard on the inside. It’s innovative approach to boosting a horse’s immune system helps support the horse’s natural defences and fight back against this debilitating virus. OE are of the view that happy horses and relieved owners make all of their hard work worth it. Sarcxpell is a product OE are really proud of.
