Winter warming breeches

You know it’s freezing outside. You know your usual breeches will struggle to keep you warm when it’s zero degrees. Cramming on extra hats, gloves and socks will help but not entirely. Winter breeches are the answer. Once upon a time, these were considered to be a real luxury but not so now as more styles are now available with a more affordable price tag.

The Dublin Thermal Gel Knee Patch Breeches are perfect for keeping you warm this winter season. These traditionally-styled breeches have modern gel strip knee patches to keep you secure in the saddle. A warm and fleecy lining prevents you from catching a chill, whilst the outer fabric offers water resistant properties, ensuring you stay dry as well as cosy no matter whatever the weather throws at you.

 Don't forget your horse!

As well as keeping yourself warm, you’ll also want to keep your horse warm at all times too, even when you ride. So, invest in an exercise sheet that suits the type of riding you do, ie if you do a lot of hacking, try the Equisafety Winter Wrap Around Sheet. 100% waterproof, windproof and breathable, lined with a quilted, wickable fabric, your horse will be warm and dry. The detachable chest protector is fully adjustable, fits at the top of the pommel area and won't restrict movement. Generous in depth to fit the largest of bottoms!

Mud, mud, glorious mud!

The long fight with mud from now through to late April means that you need to be prepared for the dreaded Mud Fever. Visit our Mud Fever Help Centre to find out more information about this upsetting condition along with all the products you need for prevention or cure.

And finally...

Why not treat yourself to a little Christmas present. Bear in mind the essence of a good present is it's something that you wouldn't usually buy yourself. So with this mind, how about this beautiful Toggi Blyth Tweed Cape? Us horsey girls all love a bit of tweed and this piece is absolutely stunning to wear out for drinks or shopping.

The cold weather has barely started, so there's a long way to go until the slightly warmer days of spring. The best way to stay warm is to get the right clothing that will keep the cold out when you're riding your horse, mucking out or doing your chores at the stables. Take a look at our specially curated collection of Winter Riding Gear to get all the items you need to keep you warm and cosy.
